Thiago has been an Information Technology (IT) and Internet professional since 1999. He knew MS-DOS, mIRC, Netscape, Windows 3.11, Novell Networks, ICQ, ASP and many other technologies!
Currently, he is an IT analyst at UTFPR Londrina in support, maintenance, analysis, and development activities.
He has expertise in web standards (front-end), RESTful services (back-end with PHP), information architecture, usability, and accessibility.
He has interests and researches about Software Engineering, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Information Systems, Information Science, and Data Science.
He has an academic background in Computer Science (bachelor's, master's, and PhD degrees).
Throughout his academic training, he conducted research on different contexts of IT and computing use, such as the impact of e-business on traditional business models, e-commerce development, applications for Digital TV, exploratory search on the Web, documentation and help tools for software users, and usability and user experience evaluation in touchable holographic solutions. He was a coordinator and professor of the Specialization in Web Development (post-graduate course) at UTFPR Londrina. He was also a visiting professor in other post-graduate courses (UEL, UEM, FAP-CE, Pitagoras, Univem, etc.). Furthermore, he teaches HTML, CSS, Javascript, WebAPIs, PHP, Restful, UX, Usability, Accessibility, Information Architecture, etc. For 12 years, he was an entrepreneur in a digital agency.
He has worked in digital accessibility and inclusion since 2007, currently serving as a member of the Web Accessibility working group at the W3C Brazil office and the special commission on digital accessibility of the Brazilian Association of Technical Standards (ABNT). He is part of the AMAWeb project team, which aims to promote digital accessibility in Brazil through a platform with evaluation tools and a support manual for WCAG standards.
He has contributed to several Ceweb.br projects, such as the translation of W3C standards, the review of guides, and technical judging for accessibility awards. He also contributed to the Brazilian e-Gov project and was a technical evangelist for Web Accessibility, WebAPIs, HTML5, and CSS3! He contributed to the creation of NBR 17060:2022 on accessibility requirements for mobile devices and NBR 17725:2025 on web accessibility.
